London LifeMakers

UK LifeMakers is the network that gathers all the different lifemakers group working within the United Kingdom; it aims at creating a base where different groups can meet, share experiences, conduct joined projects and relay events done in one city to other places in the UK.

The group consists of all active life makers throughout Britain and works on adopting the LM initiative started by Mr Amr Khaled in accordance with the needs and requirements of Muslims in the country.

While the LifeMakers project started with the Arabic countries and Arabic population in mind, the project in the UK and the Western Europe has taken a slightly different approach.

As Muslims in the West are the cultural platforms for citizens of these countries to know about the true nature of Islam and hence has a responsibility towards improving its image. Being actively involved in these platforms is one of the UK LifeMakers Network (via the different groups) main objectives. By encouraging Muslim youth living in the UK to go into charity work to serve the local community (whether Muslims or not) they would be able to integrate more into the main stream society without losing their basics of Iman, they’ll convey respect among community members while doing the good deeds that are rewarded by Allah SWT.

The second objective of UK LifeMakers Network is to be the support group for the LifeMakers’ project in the Arabic countries. By becoming ambassadors for the initiative and because of their expanding role in their communities, UK LifeMakers groups would be able to encourage and initiate support for the projects taking place in the Arabic countries from various Non Government Organisations, Public and Private bodies and national and international establishments; the August 21^st Conference is a prime example of such support.

UK Life Makers Network and London Life Makers

As the first established LifeMakers organisation, London Life Makers, building on the experience that the group members brought with them, is helping and willing to help any other start up LifeMakers’ group in the UK, by passing on experience, approved systems of works, the Know-How of establishing a charity organisation the UK and any other resources these groups require. Upon demand, LLM would run 1 day workshops on “How to Create a LM Group”, these workshops can be run in London or, as much as possible, in the new group’s regional centre (i.e. Birmingham for the West Midlands; Cardiff for Wales ..etc).

At the same time, LLM would try to recreate any of its events in London in other UK cities where there is a need for such events.
